The Policy

The purpose of leave policy for employees is to lay guidelines regarding when to avail leave and the process to take leave with pay, leave without pay and so on.

It is important to understand that the overall sentiment around the leave policy at SimplePlan has always been that there is no policy.

The core belief around this stance is that as long as we all are working on our deliverables, as long as the project cycles are not being affected, and as long as all the specified work is done on time, every person is open to take paid offs. This is again in tandem with Freedom & Responsibility.

Having said that, as we grow and more people join us, we understand that it is also important to give a reference point that we can jump off from to ensure that along with highlighting that we are a “work-first” studio, we also enforce an environment that is focused on mental and physical well-being of each and every individual.

<aside> 💡 The Leave policy is applicable for everyone after the probation period. All leaves are calculated for a period of one year (1st Apr to 31st Mar). This Policy shall define the Leaves entitlement and shall cover rules & regulations regarding leaves.

List of Holidays (2022)

You can take up to 24 days of paid leaves — think holidays, feeling under the weather, had a breakup, burnt out, etc. We usually segregate them into 12 (sick) + 12 (casual) but we are all grown ups here, so just an overall number would be better going ahead.

Apart from this, we will be closed on the following state and national holidays. We are not including the ones that fall over the weekend since we are a 5-day working organisation to ensure that we don’t have to take paid leaves to do just “life-related” tasks like going to the bank.

  1. Republic Day: 26th January 2022, Wednesday
  2. Id-ul-Fitr: 3rd May 2022, Tuesday
  3. Independence Day: 15th August 2022, Monday
  4. Dussehra (Vijay Dashmi): 5th October 2022, Wednesday
  5. Diwali Break: 24th-25th October 2022, Monday-Wednesday (Tentatively)
